  Donate a Lance Combs CD To Troops Overseas! For every FIVE DOLLARS donated ... ONE SIGNED CD will go to the troops overseas. If FIVE people donate ONE dollar, Lance will have one CD mailed overseas! If ONE person donates TWENTY dollars, Lance will have FOUR CD's mailed overseas! Why Is Lance Doing This? It’s simple… two reasons really. As many of you know, one of my major supporters with my music is a lady named Kathy Yates from the Seattle, Washington area. Kathy has been an important part of my Official Promotional Team since almost the beginning for me. On the eve of the 5 year anniversary of 9-11 I sent out a bulletin on myspace sharing my thoughts on the upcoming anniversary. I also talked about one of my personal American heroes, Major General Roger Combs. He is my uncle. At that time I asked anyone who wanted, to share their story of who their personal American Hero might be. The responses were amazing and touching. However, none touched me quite like Kathy’s story did. She shared with me the story of her husband, Brian Yates (Pictured on the far left). It touched me, not because his story is any more amazing than so many of the other stories people had shared with me about friends and relatives making a sacrifice for our country, but because Kathy had cheerfully and graciously given me so much of her time and energy over the last few weeks….and I never knew her situation. I mentioned this to Uncle Roger in a phone conversation, and a few days later she received a letter in the mail from The Pentagon acknowledging her and her family’s sacrifice and support. They were both touched. The day she received the letter, was the day of my online CD Release party. It was then, the thought occurred to me…what can I do to spread a little cheer to the other troops and give them some small token of our support. That’s how all this came about. I wish I were on a major record label and could just send a bunch of CDs overseas, but as an independent artist I just can’t do that. I hope you find it in your heart to donate to this cause. There is no middle person taking a rake off the proceeds….it’s very simple. Donate and for every $5 received (CDs on my website are normally 15.99 plus shipping) I am going to sign a CD, ship it to Kathy in Seattle and have her husband hand carry the CDs back to his friends in Afghanistan. We have approximately 30 days to do this. He is coming home fairly soon and will be shipping back out sometime after that. (Can't really go into details, confedenitialty and the military...) So please…let’s show the troops we care and that they are not forgotten. I will also include your name and city name in a letter we will have sent to troops. I have no idea how the response to this will be….if it’s overwhelming we will send some of the CDs to another unit.
